Maintenance & Long-Term Care

Protect your roofing investment by completing seasonal maintenance every spring and autumn. Clear leaves, pine needles, and organic debris from roof valleys and gutter channels to stop standing water and ice dam formations. Trim overhanging tree branches back six feet to eliminate shade, reduce moisture retention, and block animal access.

Treat algae streaks with a low-pressure application of eco-friendly oxygen bleach; never use high-pressure power washers, which strip away protective mineral granules from asphalt shingles. Install sacrificial zinc or copper strips along roof peaks. As rainwater flows over the metal, copper or zinc ions wash down the roof, preventing moss and algae growth naturally for years.
