Dirty Items: 5 Living Room Ones You Need To Clean ASAP

The air freshener!

If you’re not a fan of candles or those fragrance sticks, you may have a can or two of air freshener around the house, or even one of those other types that have come onto the market in the last few decades. It is not uncommon to have plug-in air fresheners or even potpourri around the living room, as they all leave your family room nicely scented and feeling fresh.

However, these ones have the same type of drawbacks as the candles we mentioned before, and they can also end up filling your room with chemicals, just that these ones are formaldehyde, distillates, and alcohol, just to name a few. And, you guessed it, they are irritants when it comes to the lungs and eyes, as well as potentially causing headaches and distress in some people.

If you are not opposed to these, just make sure you are cleaning the bowl in which you keep your potpourri (you can even find natural ones to replace the commercial ones), and when it comes to air fresheners, be they cans or plugins, make sure you clean them out as there can be residue left on them that can cause you even more dirt accumulation in a certain area.

If you want to swap out air fresheners for something else, you can use bowls of activated charcoal or baking soda to gather and eliminate bad odors in a natural way!
