Your shoes!

No matter if you are a no-shoe household or not, we cannot deny the fact that shoes end up bringing a ton of dirt inside the home. This is especially true if you end up walking around the house in the same shoes you have been wearing outside. All the dirt and dust will be transferred to your carpet and even the fabric of the couch if you end up putting your feet up. And this will not happen just in the living room!

Even if you have special indoor shoes, sometimes we don’t change when we go to take out the trash or just to get the mail from outside, so in time you are doing the same thing.

A good way to prevent tracking in dirt and dust inside the home is to make sure that you drop the habit of walking around the house in the same shoes you have been wearing outside and wash your indoor slippers regularly! What’s more, make sure you have slippers for guests and give your welcome mats and rugs in your entryway more frequent washes!

Guests end up observing the dirty parts of our homes before we can even think about them! If you believe your home to be spotless when you have guests over, make sure you check out these places they are bound to look into!
