#5 Make sure you have criteria and some rules when you clean out a space!
Don’t just start decluttering without a plan! It will make your life harder and you will end up keeping more things than you would like. Depending on which part of your house you are tackling, decide what you want to do and where the line between the “keep” and “toss” piles are (maybe you even have a donate pile).
To give an example, if you’re organizing make-up or toiletries, it’s fairly simple. The ones you use most often and love are a definite keepers, but the ones you haven’t used in a while or that have been opened for a long time need to go! Just make your own rules and stick to them, and decluttering will be a breeze!
