9. Hide Valuable Items

Burglars want to get in and out as fast as possible, taking with them your cash, jewelry, small electronic devices, and other objects they can pawn or sell. Make their job harder by securing these items.

One of the best home security hacks is to hide your valuable goods in a safe. Use a safe that looks like an electrical outlet or a wall clock safe to store small valuables. Or you can make your own sneaky hiding spot for stashing your valuables.

If you were a burglar, where would you look first for valuables: in a safe or in a hollowed-out book? Probably the safe. But don’t worry; if you don’t have one, find the most unassuming spot to store your valuables, and your goods should be in a safe place.
