Make the most out of your home

Say goodbye to clutter and create a space that reflects your style and supports your needs! It might seem hard at first, but it’s easier than you can imagine and the results are incredibly satisfying. One of the most important changes you need to make, which is also becoming more and more popular in the past years, is to embrace vertical space.

We tend to focus on what’s at eye level, but there is a lot of potential that lies above and below that line. For example, with just a few shelves, an empty wall can be easily turned into a storage hub for books or decorative items. Even the ceilings can be used? You can redecorate your garage and hand some of the most used utensils.

Another game changer when it comes to maximizing our living space is the multi-purpose furniture. These pieces ensure your home feels functional and looks organized. There is a trend going on social media and more and more videos with interesting furniture items are becoming viral. For example, there is a new trend with a sofa that can be easily transformed into a perfect dining space with a wooden table. Let’s get into the tips and transform your small home into your favorite place to be!

8 Storage ideas to maximize any small space

1. Clear off the floor

Try to find as many hidden storage places as possible and keep the floor clean. When the floor is cluttered the whole room feels chaotic. An easy method to reclaim your space is getting things off the floor. Start by establishing a proper space for everything. Look for baskets and bins that match your design and try to “hide” as many things as possible.

Keeping things simple will always offer your home a nice and fresh look. You should start by designing a proper space for everything. This way, it will be easier for you to find whatever you need, but will also help you stay organized and keep your living space clean.

The space will not only look better but also feel bigger. And if cleaning used to be exhausting, once you clear off the floor, vacuuming will become a pleasant activity. You’ll no longer need to pass a million obstacles.

2. Install shelves high

Are you running out of room? Then… look up! High shelves are game changers and if you beautifully organize them, they can also be a great addition to your aesthetically pleasing design. The best would be to use the shelves for the things that you don’t use daily, such as seasonal decorations and photo albums.

You can also place some baskets on these shelves where you can place a lot of other items that you don’t use daily but still want to keep close. However, keep in mind to not overload these shelves! Keep them balanced because they can also make the room feel cluttered.

3. Research helpful add-ons

There are so many clever add-ons that can be found on Amazon, which are specifically designed to maximize space. For example, one of the most purchased items is the over-the-door ironing board hanger. It’s perfect because it doesn’t affect your free space in any way. The best part about it is that its position allows you to use it whenever you need it.

Drawer organizers are another must-have item. They will help you keep everything organized, but most importantly, accessible. You can use them in every place, no matter if it’s your bathroom, kitchen, or even your desk. Clear plastic containers are also doing an amazing job, especially inside cabinets or closets.

All you need to do is take some time and explore platforms like Pinterest and YouTube to get inspired. All these tools can make a big difference, so make sure to try them all and see what fits your lifestyle best.

4. Rethink your bedside tables

Your bedside table can be a game-changer. Usually, we use our bedside tables just to deposit our lamp, a book, and maybe a glass of water. But in reality, they can do much more than that. The best would be to opt for a bedside table with built-in drawers, where you’ll be able to deposit a lot of items you need in this room. You’ll see that once you make this change, you’ll feel like upgrading your room instantly!

The drawers will hide all the things you don’t want to be seen, making your space look larger and cleaner, while also offering you significant space to store other things. The secret is to make every single piece of furniture from your home work harder for you.

5. Hang a kitchen pegboard

If you have a small kitchen that feels a little cramped, a pegboard might be the ideal solution for your problem. If you hang one of these on an empty wall, you will immediately obtain a lot of places to store pots, pans, and utensils you need while cooking, without crowding all your cabinets.

Hang a pegboard above your kitchen counter and see how it will completely change your life. All your cooking tools will be easy to reach and you will benefit of a better organized kitchen. Isn’t that cool! If you haven’t tried this hack yet, make sure you do, then come back and tell us how it went. Write us in the comment section found below, about your entire experience about the storaging process. We are here to listen to your problems and help you find the best solutions.

6. Build a DIY shoe wall

Most of the time, shoes are taking over our floors. A DIY shoe wall would be the best idea to add a little bit of personality to your space. Don’t worry! It’s simpler than you can imagine! All you need are a few wooden boards, brackets, and of course, some creativity.

Each shelf should hold at least two pairs of shoes, but you can also add hooks underneath for hats and bags. It’s crazy how much cleaner the space will look, when everything will stay in place.

In case you don’t feel creative enough, or simply don’t have the time for a DIY project, you can opt for ready-made shelves. The most important is to use the wall space you already have and turn it into something functional.
