10 Innocent Household Lung Hazards Harming Your Health

Carpets

Rugs and carpets trap way more dust than hardwood flooring does. And the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that dust mites are among the most common indoor triggers for asthma.

When you walk around your home, the particles in the area stir up and settle back down. Now, unless your lungs are extra sensitive to COPD or asthma, you probably won’t start coughing from one run-in with a dusty carpet.

But if you have kids who like playing on the floor, the collected dust from this household lung hazard could start to bother their lungs.

Wooden Furniture

Old wooden furniture that has lots of details and carvings can also trap a lot of dust and be a household lung hazard, which may lead to respiratory ailments, allergies, and in extreme cases, your lungs being damaged.
