They can be grown as an annual (meaning you will only use them once) or as a perennial if you protect them properly during the harsh winter months (if you live in a warm state, you will not have this problem).
You should familiarize yourself with the variety that is best for your state’s climate, and after you plant them, you shouldn’t expect a harvest any earlier than 2 years after planting. We know it’s a bit of a wait, but you’ll be able to enjoy the best bites artichokes have to offer all year long after that.
