3. Mint
I enjoy mint. It smells incredibly fresh, so I put it in my tea, ice cream, and all over my home. But in addition to all of these, mint is also one of the plants that can keep bugs away from your property. The primary insect-repelling component of peppermint and mint oils, menthol, has biocidal qualities that help deter and manage mites, mosquitoes, and a variety of other bugs.
It spreads like a weed and is the ideal plant for rookies but if you don’t want it to spread all over your garden, grow it in its own pot. Once it’s flourishing, you can use mint leaves in a variety of meals, such as a fresh mint chutney with lemon, cucumber, and lemonades.
