12 Notable Things Professional Organizers NEVER Throw Away

Rare Items You Can’t Repurchase

Be careful when you’re clearing out a space or home with anything vintage, antique, or one-of-a-kind! Consider anything of high importance or rare items that are not easily repurchased.

Professional organizers aren’t saying some of these can’t be thrown out, but they require a more prolonged thought process.

Containers With Missing Lids

If you have the space, dedicate a shelf to the “I’ll use this later” items your frugal side struggles to part with, like an organizing bin for missing lids. Maybe you’ll haul it out to store tall vases or that holiday decor that wouldn’t fit in the box if the lid was on it!

But keep in mind that everything on that shelf should have some kind of expiration date.

Professional organizers believe that if it’s been over a year and you haven’t touched any of the items, it might be time to part with it. Otherwise, you’ve got a clutter crisis waiting to happen.
