6 Cheap Paint Colors That Lower Your House Value

Other things that might make your home look cheap:

There are plenty of ways in which lighting could influence the look and feel of a room. For instance, bright, white lighting is a quick way to make your room feel washed out. It also makes any potentially tacky design decisions for the main characters when, in reality, that’s exactly the opposite of what you want.

Minimal lighting would be much more recommended in basements. What you choose to do with those light fixtures and bulb styles could really change the game, so you should pay attention.

Too much do-it-yourself furniture

Yes, we love the practical self-thought designer in you, but maybe he or she should go on a long vacation. Picking up various DIY projects is an astounding activity, and we couldn’t appreciate more all those talented fellows who genuinely invented the concept of “I can do it myself, no matter how hard or complicated”.

However, don’t fill your house with DIY stuff. Balance is everything, and that’s why we believe that a handmade end table, for instance, is a wonderful conversation starter, and it would look amazing in any room. However, repurposing all the junk isn’t cool.
