Maintenance & Long-Term Care

Protecting your newly applied living room colors extends the lifespan of your investment. Dust your walls monthly using a dry microfiber mop attached to an extension pole. Dust accumulation dulls the paint finish over time, particularly in homes with shedding pets or wood-burning fireplaces.

When dealing with scuffs or smudges, avoid using harsh chemical degreasers or abrasive magic erasers, which will burnish the paint and leave permanent shiny spots. Instead, mix a few drops of mild dish soap into a bucket of warm water. Dip a soft sponge into the solution, wring it out until it is barely damp, and gently wipe the affected area in slow, circular motions.

Direct sunlight rapidly fades rich color combinations. If your living room features large south-facing windows, consider installing UV-blocking window films or utilizing solar shades during peak afternoon hours. Keep a small, airtight jar of both paint colors stored in a cool, dry utility room. Having these exact batches on hand allows you to seamlessly touch up nail holes or furniture scrapes without returning to the hardware store for a potentially mismatched color sample.
