One of the biggest benefits of growing lemongrass is that it’s a very low-maintenance plant requiring little water to flourish. You should plant some lemongrass in a few pots for a beautiful and easy-to-maintain array of planters around your home!

Culinary use

The most popular reason many people grow lemongrass is for culinary use. The heart of the young shoots can be cooked and eaten as a vegetable. The leaves are used in cooking or brewing tea. The base portions of the shoots will give a lemon-like fragrance and flavor.

And older leaves are placed in dishes, like bay leaves, and removed before eating. Lemongrass is crucial in many favorites, including Thai curries and many other South East Asian meals.
