Create layers

Please, whatever you might be doing, wherever you might go, and whenever you decide to do a room makeover, just resist the temptation to throw everything in your room at once. Visualize the space you’re preparing in terms of layers and carefully build it through color, texture, pattern, fabric, surface treatments, lighting, pictures, plants, and even books.

It’s highly important to go with your personal taste rather than what’s trending right now. Besides, layers represent the art of combining a range of fabrics, prints, colors, and textures in a wonderful manner that brings more character and warmth to a room.

Layers also allow your home to feel lived-in and homey. Find the perfect dominant fabric you desire, whether curtains or a rug, and carefully start, little by little, adding smaller-scale fabrics for your lampshades or even your cushions.
