#1 Chives
We know you can easily find chives in the vegetable section of your grocery store, at the farmer’s market, or at your local Asian store. However, you cannot always count on the fact that they are extremely fresh (especially when bought from a supermarket).
Wouldn’t it be easier to just go outside, grab your gardening gloves and basket, and harvest them whenever you need them? Chives are actually a type of perennial vegetable, and they are both easy to grow and sturdy. Not only will you have an easy time getting them to grow sturdy roots, but they are such vigorous plants you will have to divide them in a few years’ time!
In the meantime, you can enjoy them fresh in salads, dips, or even as a garnish directly from your garden!
