1. Declutter your space

One of the most important things you have to keep in mind when creating a spa-like bathroom is getting rid of the clutter. Countertops and cabinets that are jam-packed with products won’t put you in a relaxing mood but will actually make your brain think you’re even more stressed.

So before we move on to the next step, take some time to go through your stuff and get rid of the expired products or any other items you don’t use. As you restock, put the items you need regularly inside drawers, cabinets, and baskets.

Leave the counter free, or you have that space available to put the things you use every day, like soap, so you create the idea that the area is bigger and cleaner. Other than that, tuck everything away, because a clear space means a clear mind.

2. Add storage space

Now that the clutter problem is all taken care of, an easy way to maintain a spa-like bathroom is by adding storage space. Besides your drawers and cabinets, think about adding additional storage spaces to keep your belongings organized.

Shelves, mount hooks, baskets, and other pieces of furniture can be great additions to help you keep things organized, clean, and neat. You can keep all your containers in one place, so that you have everything handy, and that also makes you feel calmer because you don’t have lots of things spread in your entire bathroom.

3. Install a new showerhead

An easy way to turn a boring shower into an exquisite experience is by installing a new showerhead. A mineral shower head, for instance, might be exactly what you need, as it contains good ingredients for your skin and hair, and it can also help you improve the water pressure in your home. If you want a spa-like bathroom, this might be the right device for you.

Of course, you can also look for different alternatives, such as a rain showerhead that sprays water from above, a massaging spray pattern, or a handheld component.

If your budget allows you, you can also upgrade other fixtures to create a spa-like bathroom, such as a new commode or a new faucet. These new things could totally transform your area, but they’re not mandatory; there are still many other tips to create a spa-like bathroom, as you can see in this article.

4. Upgrade your toiletries

Let’s move on to the funny part. One of the easiest ways to create a spa-like bathroom is with the help of toiletries. One of the reasons why people like to spend some time at the spa is because they can experiment with luxurious products that they might not have access to otherwise.

However, you don’t need to spend all of your savings on products, but you can still get some gorgeous-smelling and fancier toiletries to create a special atmosphere in your home. You can also get other things for baths, such as bubbles and bath balls; light some candles, and have a magical night.

5. Natural decor

Decor, decor, decor! You can’t go wrong with some nice items to create a fantastic spa-like bathroom. A few plants displayed in your bathroom can create a natural and green oasis that is going to relax you and put you in a good mood at the same time.

You can put some houseplants on the floor or on your countertop, or maybe try hanging one from the ceiling. However, if you plan on getting plants, make sure you choose those that can thrive in humid bathroom environments and don’t rely too much on light.

But if you’re the kind of person who can’t take care of a plant, no worries; you can still have a spa-like bathroom. Just go to the nearest shop where you can find home objects and choose faux flowers and plants that will create the same effect.

6. Add a cozy seat

A cozy seat might be exactly the item you’re missing to have the perfect spa-like bathroom. If you’re blessed with a spacious bathroom, you can invest in a settee or side chair to make the room feel cozier, fancier, and more inviting.

You can put it near your shower or tub to place your towel, or you can put some magazines there to create the feeling of a fancy and luxurious space, just like in a real spa. Make sure your chair has indoor-outdoor fabric so that it won’t be damaged by steam and heat.

7. Stock plush bath towels

Let’s discuss other items that will help you have the spa-like bathroom of your dreams, because there are many things you could do on a budget. One of the key ingredients of a spa-like bathroom is fluffy and modern towels.

Choose bath towels that are cozy and feel luxurious, but make sure that the material they’re made of is absorbent, like bamboo or cotton, because these two are also going to pass the test of washing over time.

To take this entire thing to the next level, you can display the extra towels in a gorgeous rolled arrangement or make a stack with crisply folded edges. A fluffy and big robe that is made out of the same material is going to take your skincare routine to the next level, so make sure you get one of those too.

8. Use color to create a relaxing ambiance

If you’re into DIY projects, a new color for your walls might be exactly what you need. Muted, soft, and rather neutral colors help you achieve a tranquil environment, so when you establish your spa-like bathroom color scheme, make sure you avoid high-contrast pairings, like blue and orange or black and white.

While these combinations are popular and look good, they’re energizing, so go for muted combinations, such as beige and green or white and sky blue.

9. Add rugs

We’re almost done with these tips on how to create a spa-like bathroom, but bear with me for a couple of extra minutes because you’ll like what you’ll read. You can create some wonderful soft space on your bathroom floors with some gorgeous plush rugs.

Not only do they add dimension and character to your room, but they’re cozy, and they will feel amazing beneath your feet when you come into your bathroom on a chilly morning.

The sad thing is that rugs can develop bacteria and mold, so to prevent that from happening, you should choose one that is made from quick-drying material.

10. Add calming scents

Some smells have the ability to immediately take you into a calm state of mind. Add aromatherapy to your spa-like bathroom with some gorgeous relaxing fragrances such as ylang-ylang, lavender, or rosemary.

Scented candles, lotions, soaps, and essential oil diffusers are easy methods to create a calming atmosphere on a budget. Other than that, add some eucalyptus to your shower to create a relaxing atmosphere that will also help you breathe better.
