November
Main project: Scope your sewer line
Just like insects look for a cozy hideout as the temperatures begin to drop, trees look for water when it’s dry and cold. We recommend having a plumber check out your main sewer line, especially if there are large trees near your home.
The tree roots tend to get into those hairline cracks of a house’s sewer system, which’ll back up your main line. You’ll regret not adding this particular task to your home maintenance checklist!
Home maintenance checklist for November:
-Clean your siding, yet again, to clear away any dirt or pollen from the prior months. Don’t forget to check for mildew or rot.
-Plant trees if you need to replace any or if you want to fill out your landscape. Arborists say that one of the best times to plant trees is in the fall after the leaves fall.
-Have your furnace or central heating system inspected and cleaned to reduce energy bills over the coming months and prevent safety risks during freezing temperatures.
