December

Main project: Improve your energy efficiency
As you get ready for the holidays and count toward the new year, consider wrapping up your home like a gift to prevent moisture and heat loss.

Sealing leaks around windows and doors, in the siding, and adding insulation can save you approximately 15% on heating and cooling costs, as per the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Home maintenance checklist for December:
-Inspect your lighting fixtures.
-Winterize your water pipes to prevent freezing. Also, unless you have a frost-free faucet, remember to drain any garden hoses and shut   off and drain hose bibs.
-Check the weather tightness of all exterior components and seal any foundation cracks.
-Inspect your attic insulation and ventilation for its state to ensure uniform coverage.
-Check for roof leaks, particularly at vents, chimneys, and valley areas.

If you found this home maintenance checklist helpful, be sure to hit the “Share” but and let your friends know about it as well.
