Boost Your Tomatoes
When you begin planting your tomatoes, dig a small hole with a trowel, and put a handful of coarsely crushed eggshells at the bottom. This will provide a fair amount of minerals and trace elements to your tomato plant slowly and steadily.
But while you can place eggshells directly under your tomatoes as you transplant them, sometimes a random tomato plant from last season can pop up, and maybe you wish to save it. Give this little survivor some extra love and attention.
The extra bit of calcium to your tomato plants will help control blossom-end rot created by a calcium imbalance. The bottom line is that eggshells are incredibly beneficial for many vegetables, including your peppers, squash, cabbage, and broccoli!
