False books and cans

Creating secret storage spots out of the most random household items is a genius strategy that has worked for many years. If you have a couple of bookcases inside your home, you might want to consider hollowing out a book and making a small storage space inside the pages.

This way, it will look completely natural, unless you remove it from the shelf and actually open it. Would you even think to look there? Well, neither would anyone else!

Out-of-season clothing

When someone breaks into a home looking for valuable items, the chances of them looking through coats, sweaters, and any other clothing pieces are low.

You could consider keeping an envelope of valuables in one of the pockets of an old jacket. Also, switch the hiding spot when the seasons change, storing items in your winter clothes throughout summer and summer clothing during winter.

If you’re also using clothing with hidden pockets, that’s even better! It will help conceal valuables a bit better.
