False air vent
While it isn’t the best idea to store valuable items in an air vent because it will block the airflow into the home, you can still stuff something in there that’s truly valuable to you.
Or, even better, install a false air vent or an opening in the wall specifically made for your valuables. Trust me, thieves won’t have enough time to unscrew and check your air vents.
Wall and mantel clock
Clocks are a wonderful way to store small and valuable items. Most wall clocks also have open cavities in the back or even in the base, where a couple of small items can be kept safely.
However, if your clock doesn’t have an open cavity, all you have to do is tape the items to the back of the clock and even hang it back on the wall. As long as the clock doesn’t appeal to any thieves, your items will definitely be safe in there.
Pillows
Another great option is to store your valuables in a pillow or even a couch cushion. You can tuck your valuables inside your zippered cushion covers.
Or, if your pillows don’t have zippers, you can simply cut an opening in the back, stitch a zipper onto the pillow, take the stuffing, store your valuable items, and then zip back the pillow.
