#3 Outlets and light fixtures
If you panic when you accidentally spill something next to an outlet, then you also know better than to spray cleaning products directly on these fixtures. However, there are still people who think that you can clean light fixtures and outlets with damp cloths, and for those of you, we bring very bad news.
Not only do you risk electrocuting yourself, but you can also start a fire if you use water to clean those, even if it’s just a damp cloth. You should not be comfortable with the possibility of getting water into an electric device. Instead, you should either use a duster or dry cloth to clean light fixtures, and even outlet covers, using wet wipes on more stubborn spots (only on the outside of the outlets, though).
