3. Following the trends
Trends come and go, and while it’s fun to discover the latest ins and outs in design, you should never follow the trend mindlessly.
The most essential factor in your design is how you feel in your house. If trends influence you, ask yourself: Do I actually love it?
You don’t want to commit to a particular style that will go out of style by next year and it will make your home look outdated. If you are unsure, try to look for an evergreen design with elements that have stood the test of time, are relevant today, and will be in the future. Evergreen design includes clean lines, neutral colors, and natural materials that create a sense of warmth and balance in a space.
If you also feel the pressure to follow a new style, try purchasing small design objects that can give you a hip feeling but are easy to replace if you ever get bored of them.
