4. Rosemary
This perennial herb has been used for centuries as a medicinal plant and a culinary herb. This shrub is part of the mint family and is rich in essential oil. Its aroma is somewhat woodsy, and it also has calming properties. It relaxes the whole body, while at the same time energizing the mind. This makes the oil a staple in aromatherapy.
This plant loves the sun, and because of that, it is a good idea to plant it in a large pot right in front of a window if you want to keep it indoors. If you want to grow it outdoors, you can always replace traditional shrubbery with rosemary shrubs. Its leaves can be picked all year, and you can use them in various recipes, from potatoes to chicken.
Also, some studies suggest that rosemary essential oil is very effective in reducing cortisol (the stress hormone) levels. All you have to do is simply inhale its aroma.
