Make sewing easier
It may not seem like you can use a bar of soap to help you when sewing, but soap has different uses when it comes to sewing.
For ages, most seamstresses have been using soap scraps to mark the seam lines and hems of their garments for easier sewing.
Not only is it a way to create marks that will fade away easily (as soap will wash away), but it is also a great way to make sure you are using the entirety of your bar.
Likewise, you can easily use a bar of soap to make a pincushion. Choose a scrap of fabric that you like to wrap around your soap and sew it shut.
Then you can easily store needles and pins in the soap to prevent losing them, while also making sure they will easily glide through fabric due to the soap residue on their tips!
If any of our uses have sounded appealing to you and you do not have any bars of soap lying around that you would be okay with sacrificing, we have your back! You can buy some gorgeously scented soap bars for great prices on Amazon!
