Definitely Avoid! Salt!

If there’s one thing besides soap (which does the same thing as salt) in your garden, it’s salt! It is true that the sodium is going to effectively get rid of all your weeds and that it is an organic way to do it, but once you have used it, you have pretty much doomed your garden. Are you wondering why that is?

Salt is actually poisonous not just to plants but also to the soil. While it will end up clearing out all the unwanted plants, it will also end up in the ground and linger for many years to come, even spreading around after you have watered the garden or if it has rained. You will have problems growing anything after using salt in your yard, so the best course of action is to steer clear of any DIY recipes that involve salt, Epsom salt, or soap!

You want to stop the weeds from suffocating your garden, not smother every plant in it!

If you’re planning out the perfect garden, do not go too far with your plants! There are some beautiful ones that are actually banned in certain states. So, before you start buying seeds and arranging your yard, make sure your centerpiece is not any of these plants!
