9 Beautiful Plants You Can Easily Propagate

5. Christmas Cactus

Despite its name, the Christmas cactus is succulent, and it’s pretty easy to propagate. All you need for that are a few segments from the parent plant, and you’re ready to go.

You’ll notice that this type of cactus, like any other holiday cactus, doesn’t have typical leaves but rather individual segments. In fact, where each segment meets the next one is where the plant contains its reproductive cells. This is where new growth happens every year.

To propagate a Christmas cactus, take a few cuttings, making sure you have at least three segments on each one of them. Place the cutting in the soil so that one to two joints on the segment are covered. Mist the plant regularly, ensuring you keep it moist. And that’s it; before you even realize it, you’ll have a healthy new Christmas cactus.
