What’s popular in the tiles section this year?

As I said before, the coolest thing about this year’s trend is tile flooring that replicates any realistic approach you might be thinking of.

The details are absolutely breathtaking, and they have some of the best textures and color variations, which makes contemporary tiles the hottest item on the flooring market.

This year, you’ll probably have plenty of traditional wood and stone tile options. According to Donato Pompo, Ceramic Tile, and Stone Consultants, Inc., “concrete looks are now more popular than ever, and the wood look is still going strong.

Now that we have inkjet technology, the tiles look like very realistic wood or stone, but with the durability and maintenance benefits of porcelain tiles.

Wood-look tile flooring

Before, ceramic tile flooring was famous for its sharp resemblance to the natural look of stone.

But ever since then, those who work in the industry have been slowly mastering the art of disguise long before it was even cool or fashionable. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that nowadays, the coolest look in the tiles industry is the current natural wood look.

Manufacturers are now able to mimic all the biggest wood flooring trends, and I’m talking here about all the textured looks and everything. Here are three main options with an extraordinary quality:

  • wire brushed wood-like tile – will give the appearance of subtle, and intentional wire scratches that will leave the heart of the “wood” exposed to the surface. All these imperfections are way smoother and more consistent than what distressed wood would look like.
  • rustic, hand-scraped wood-look tile – looks exactly like long, ingrained scrapes with high variation between planks, which makes each plank look more handcrafted, unique, and even rare
  • distressed wood-look tile – this one is oftentimes mistaken for the hand-scraped one. Distressed IS SUPPOSED to look as if it’s been through a lot of wear and tear. So you should expect to see scrapes, burns, knots, and more.
