7. Furniture from the same set

The time spent buying furniture sets has come to an end. Mixing styles, textures, and shapes while maintaining a cohesive look may seem difficult. What should you do if you don’t want your home to look like it was decorated by Carmella Soprano?

Try not to replace all your old furniture. Keep some pieces that you love and mix them with new elements. Thrifting is also a good idea. You can find unique pieces that bring a lot of character to your home.

If you are unsure how to put everything together, try not to mix and match everything. Start with a couple of pieces, like grabbing some vintage nightstands for your bedroom or not matching the sofa with the armchair. Whatever you choose, remember about the vision board and the first rule we talked about: Everything you buy should include an element on your mood board.
