As we’ve mentioned, lemongrass has such a lovely, distinct scent. Planting lemongrass around your home and outdoors will create a pleasant aroma when spending time inside or out!

Also, simmering lemongrass indoors can cast its smell filling your home with a soothing and stress-reducing aromatherapeutic fragrance.

Simmering releases the natural essential oils in the plant, allowing you to enjoy the aromatherapy benefits of lemongrass right from your garden. you can even sip the tea produced for an added effect.

Natural medicinal uses

Lemongrass is also a helpful herb in natural medicine. The tea brewed from the leaves is used to treat many digestive problems. It’s also used to treat mild feverish ailments, especially in children. The leaves increase perspiration and relieve spasms.

This plant also produces a beneficial essential oil. It has both antibacterial and antifungal properties. Externally, essential oil made from lemongrass can be used to treat a range of conditions, including athlete’s foot, scabies, ringworm, and lice.

You can even apply it to ease pain in arthritic joints. This is why growing lemongrass should be a priority for gardeners!
