Ornamental Cherry
Cherry trees can be a great addition to any low-maintenance landscaping design vision. They’re well-known for their exquisite spring blossoms in confetti of white or pink, and some varieties are even scented. As far as size goes, you’ve got plenty of choices.
A smaller version of the best low-maintenance trees is the weeping Prunus yedoensis, which can reach up to 10 feet tall in approximately 10 years. Another small but stunning choice is Cherry “Pink Shell,” which has some beautiful pastel pink flowers that turn white in April.
A slightly larger option for low-maintenance landscaping would be the Prunus Incisa ‘The Bride.” It’s wrapped in single white flowers with a blushed center all through the spring.
This one grows to roughly 13 feet. As a whole, Ornamental Cherry trees like to be in full sun with damp, well-drained soil of any kind.
