Hand-drying dishes!
Hear us out. It is way easier to leave the dishes to air dry, but this is also how you get water stains on all your dishes and cookware, which at some point will be impossible to get rid of if you do not want to spend a few hours polishing them. We both used to think that hand-drying the dishes immediately after we did them was a waste of time, but then we stopped to think and realized that it did not take as much as we thought, especially when we added the time it took to put them back in their place in the first place.
By hand-dying the dishes when you are cleaning them, you will both make sure your counters are not cluttered after a big meal and also get rid of the possibility of forgetting to put everything back in its place at the end of the night. If you enjoy the sigh of a non-cluttered kitchen, this is one of the best habits that you should add to your routine.
What’s more, doing this will also ensure that you leave everything as clean as possible, and you can also catch any spots you may have missed when you washed them.
Even better, this is a couple of minutes that you spend with your spouse, and you can both enjoy the makeshift ritual of washing and drying dishes while you chat. I will not lie, I love these types of relaxing moments!
Since we’re on the topic of cleaning, you should make sure that you NEVER clean these items with plain water!
