Want to Sell Your Home? DON’T Tell Your Listing Agent These 7 Things!

Take all the time you need to sell the house.

Here’s a true fact: the longer your home will be on the market, the lower the final sales price will be, so that’s something to take into consideration if you want to sell your home. The reason is quite simple, and it’s called supply and demand.

If you have plenty of demand for your home, then it might attract a larger number of potential buyers faster. Those potential buyers will eventually end up outbidding each other to win your home, which will automatically drive the price up.

However, if the demand is low, it might take more time until you attract buyers, and in most cases, you might even have to settle for the initial price or even lower it to sell it at all.

Don’t mention you are selling the home because you’ve gotten divorced.

I know you might be tempted to overshare because you’re being honest, but this is the kind of thing that might help people take advantage of your situation. In this situation, people might perceive you as desperate to sell, and they will try to make offers well below your listing price.

They bet that you want to sell the house as fast as you can, and that’s why you’ll take any offer. A listing agent could even innocently bring up the subject at an open house, and even if it seems harmless to the agent, someone out there will try to make the most of it.
