Mizuna

Technically this edible landscaping option is a type of mustard green. It’s well-known for its deeply jagged leaves and peppery flavor. You can even grow some purple and green varieties to add some extra color, interesting texture, and intense flavor to your salads.

You can grow Mizuna similarly to what we discussed about loose-leaf lettuce: packed tightly into a garden bed or container. When harvesting, simply cut as many 2- to 4-inch-long leaves as you want!

Summer Squash

If we could use one word to describe this edible landscaping idea, it would be “productive!”

While it may be true that they can take up a lot of room, just one single summer squash will supply you with a sizable harvest that will provide for your family, and you’ll even have some leftovers to share with friends, as well.

The delicious green and yellow veggies they create will give your garden a unique and fresh look. Besides that, they’re versatile in the kitchen and can be used in various dishes.

Stuffed, baked, and even turned into noodles, there’s no doubt that you’ll love having this plant in your garden!

Now that we’ve covered some beautiful and delicious edible landscaping options continue reading for some tips on what NOT to do!
