3. There are cracks in your windows

Another sign that could indicate a structural problem with your home is a new crack in your window. Sometimes kids play outside with balls, rocks, or any other objects that could potentially destroy people’s belongings, but if you know that this isn’t the case and the way that crack appeared in your home is a mystery for you, keep reading.

Experts say that those cracks, which typically show up as a single crack that stretched from one edge of your window to the other, are caused by structural shifting, which then leads to extreme pressure on your glass.

If you notice any unusual cracks in your windows, analyze your interior walls, your stone siding, and your exterior brick, to see if you find any other cracks in your mortar joints. If there are any, the smartest thing to do is pick up your phone and dial a structural engineer’s or a contractor’s number to take a look, because this is a problem you don’t want to avoid.
