You can place them with their packaging on, or if you want the scent to be more present, you can easily just take the bar from its packaging and wrap it in some fabric before placing it between your clothes.

This method also works with placing them in closets, car interiors, suitcases, and even in boots or shoes that have started to smell too much from use, and you cannot wash them anytime soon or at all.
