10 Nectar-Rich Plants to Put in Your Garden for Pollinators

3. Zinnia

Zinnias are among the easiest nectar-rich plants to grow, with their bright bloom colors making them a great choice if you want to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators to your yard.

Z. elegans is the most common zinnia and a species within the Zinnia genus. In fact, there are actually hundreds of cultivars available, classified by groups according to their flower shape and growth habit.

Colors are available in almost every hue, and heights range from six inches to about four feet. After the hummingbirds have taken their nectar shot, seeds will develop as the flowers mature, making them great plants to feed birds like finches.
