8 Interior Design Rules of Thumb You Must Always Follow

Fake height

If your house has low ceilings, choose low-profile furniture pieces like sofas and coffee tables so you can create the illusion of height. You can easily mix low-profile furniture with tall, slim bookshelves that draw the eye upward.

By mixing different heights in this manner, you might create a relaxed atmosphere in your home. To give the illusion of space, just paint the walls, boards, and ceiling the same color. It’s a wonderful technique in which you can blur the lines between where the walls end and where the ceiling starts. Trust me; this is the kind of advice you’d get from an interior designer!
