 1. African Violet

Scientific name: Saintpaulia streptocarpus

  • Plant Type: Perennial flower
  • Plant Size: 2-6 inches
  • Geographic Origin: East Africa (High Tropics of Tanzania)
  • Plant Zone: Houseplant
  • Sun Exposure: Medium to bright indirect light

The African Violet is a low-maintenance plant that can thrive for quite a long time and it’s also known to bloom all season long. This gorgeous flower has fuzzy succulent-type leaves that helps it absorb water. You may think that the African violet only comes in violet blooms, but there are also pink, purple, red, and white shades.

These gorgeous flowers are great houseplants due to their climate restrictions. They love high humidity and require to be fertilized from time to time in order to bloom continuously.
