6 Subtle Signs Your House Has a HUGE Problem

1. Your doors don’t close

If there’s a door in your home that used to close without a problem, but now it doesn’t stick or it seems like it doesn’t want to close at all, this is a sign that there might be a problem with the structure of your home.

One reason could be the fact that the soil is expansive and swells when it gets saturated. Therefore, it puts pressure on your house’s foundation, and that creates a shift.

I remember that one time when I was at the office, a huge storm started all of a sudden. We were inside, so we were protected, but the installation of the air conditioning wasn’t properly taken care of, and all the water that was pouring in came into our office. We quickly grabbed buckets and called a plumber, but in less than half an hour, the floors were covered in water.

A couple of days later, we noticed that the doors couldn’t close anymore because they were made out of wood and got swollen due to the large quantity of water they absorbed. It took a couple of weeks for the doors to get back to normal, so if that’s your case too, don’t neglect this problem and examine the other doors and items in your home ASAP.

Of course, another reason why your doors might not close is due to normal settling, but either way, you’d better be sure that there’s no other issue lying there, so call a contractor to help you examine the problem.
