Remote Control

There is a rumor going around that the dirtiest part of a hotel room is, surprisingly or not, the remote control. However, most people do not think that it also applies to your own remote at home! As people are always holding it and using it, even when they are eating or when they are fighting a cold, it makes it a germ magnet. There are quite a lot of these small items in your house that you do not give a second thought to.

A study found that half of the remotes used for the experiment had tested positive for viruses such as the cold. The easiest way to avoid getting any germs from them is to use the same alcohol wipes used for cleaning phones on the remote as well, to make sure you regularly get rid of any germs.

Faithfully, at the end of every month, I run my washing machine with a packet of Tide washing machine cleaner. Surprised this wasn’t included on the list.
