Dark brown and terracotta

When it comes to ‘cheap’ paint colors you should never go for, I think dark brown is at the top of our list. I know, I know, some shades of beige are actually great, as they can offer plenty of warmth and are also wildly popular, but for some reason, brown just doesn’t fit the description.

And we’re not the only ones who feel this way, as there are many experts out there who would agree with this. The brown tone has a special something that would make any space feel dingy, dark, and small. If you really want to paint your rooms dark brown, you need to figure out a smart way in which you can make them look bigger.

Besides, having brown walls around your home is known to lower the value of your property, which isn’t recommended if you want to sell your house for top dollar. Instead, you might want to opt for muted tones and warm neutrals; these will work very well for living spaces.

If you’d rather go with bold tones, designers would recommend sticking to teal and dark blue tones and adding a deeper color.
