6 Plant-Destroying Habits You Should Stop Repeating

5. Fertilizer

The fifth plant-destroying habit we’re going to talk about in today’s article is fertilizer. Yes, you might think that your houseplants need as many nutrients as possible, but that’s not always the case.

Imagine that you want to be more mindful of your lifestyle and have decided to pay attention to your diet. You won’t feel energetic and productive if you don’t eat enough, but either way, you won’t feel your best if you overeat.

The same thing goes for your plant: they’re not going to be very happy if you give them too much fertilizer because they’ll enter a food coma they won’t know how to deal with. Don’t get the wrong idea; if you mistakenly gave your shrubs too much fertilizer once, it’s not going to turn into a plant-destroying habit. But that can easily happen if you repeat the same “mistake” over and over again.

So in conclusion, be mindful of the quantity of fertilizer your plants actually need, and don’t give them much more than that, because it’s definitely not a smart idea.
