Wet Floors, Walls, Or Ceilings

It’s normal for walls to be temporarily damp from using the shower or cooking. However, if it seems like they’re permanently damp and there’s no apparent source of the moisture from within the room, it’s most likely that the insulation, drywall, or studs inside are wet.

Wet floors, walls, or ceilings are tell-tale signs of moisture and, ultimately, mold growing within your walls. This can be caused by a recent leak or ongoing dampness.

If you suspect there might be a moisture issue in your home, feel around for wetness and be sure to check your ceilings and floors as well. Another less obvious, yet just as important, sign of dampness might be chilly walls, even if your house feels warm.

Even if there’s merely a tiny leak, it can be significantly pricey to repair if it directly impacts your walls. Experts recommend taking out home water damage insurance for some extra support because water damage costs can get pretty high.
