6 Wild Animals Most Likely to Invade Your Backyard

1. Stealthy Raccoon

Raccoons are first on our list of animals that may invade your backyard. They can be found in neighborhoods all over the country. With their dexterous little hands, these creatures are well equipped for stealing your cat’s food and pretty much everything else that catches their fancy.

Raccoons are nocturnal animals, so they are typically only seen at night. The lure of garbage and pet food is too much for these backyard burglars to not invade your outdoor space, and you’ll see this is a common trait among many of the wild animals on this list.

If you aren’t fond of having these little guys around, there are some steps to follow. The first thing you have to do is to never leave pet food outside. Then, buy some garbage cans that have locking lids (Amazon has plenty of options at affordable prices). Are raccoons digging up your garden? They are most likely looking for worms and other delicious bugs. Try using a humane hot sauce repellent on those areas. It will keep raccoons away.

Though it’s tempting to feed these animals that may invade your backyard, you shouldn’t do that. Not only will you probably piss your neighbors off, but getting raccoons accustomed to human contact could result in a potentially dangerous situation.

If you love them as much as we do, then you probably like their mischievous nature. But remember that, after all, that’s what can get you into trouble! As long as you don’t pet them, you should be safe. Let them go about their business (as weird as it may be) with as little contact as possible.
