Choose the right artwork and hang it the right way

Another perspective when it comes to interior design rules of thumb refers to a very delicate decision, and that is art. When it comes to hanging art on your wall, the last thing you want to do is position it way too high.

They should stay relatively at a human scale, as the perfect height is at eye level, which is 145 cm from the floor to the center of the picture. Naturally, there are some exceptions to the rule. For instance, if you have a favorite, much smaller picture, you can hang it above your side table or close to your favorite lamp.

This way, you might achieve a more intimate feeling. Also, if you’re hanging a gallery wall, the main picture should be placed at eye level, with the others arranged in relation to it.
