7 Things You Need to Know Before Signing a Moving Contract

6. Negotiate

Negotiations are an expected and effective part of contracts. Most moving contracts can be negotiated—even if that fact isn’t stated explicitly. There may be terms you don’t want to agree to, and the other party may feel the same way.

This is where your research will be extremely useful. For instance, if you know other moving companies are offering better deals, you can approach them with this valuable information and see if they are willing to offer a lower price.

Never feel pressured to enter into a contract with the terms exactly as they are. If there’s a way to push for concessions, go for it and advocate for yourself! There’s a chance during negotiations that you’ll realize that you don’t actually want to sign the contract—this could save you lots of money and time in the end!

If a business or individual truly wants to be their client, they will allow a window for negotiation or agree to your requests.
