Musty Smell

We all know it! Mold has a musty smell, easily compared with wet pets, wet cardboard, or an old house’s basement. If your walls are damp, the first thing you might notice is the unmistakable musty smell that’s created by mildew and mold.

If you can’t see the actual mold or feel the moisture in the walls, this pungent smell is a strong giveaway that dampness is the cause. And unfortunately, the odor can also get into your furniture and clothes if the water damage is extensive enough.

So if you get a sense of this smell when walking into a room of your home, you might have a mold problem on your hands.
