#2 Sticking to only one or two colors

We know that the unofficial official colors of Christmas are red and green, but relying on these two colors for everything makes your holidays repetitive and, dare we say, boring. Not to mention, you can always use some of your favorite colors this way, which can make everything feel much more like you.

You can exchange the bright colors for more muted, elegant colors, or even go towards a pastel theme. If you are in a darker mood, you can even go for darker wine tones, and you can have holidays without the sometimes added headache and sensory overload. What’s more, you can mix these with red and green, and if you add some precious metal colors (copper, gold, and silver), you will definitely love the outcome.

Make this time of year your own, and don’t worry about the rigid people who say only red and green are acceptable.
