1. Get rid of all the trash

So, it’s been a long winter – 3 or 4 months of cold, snow, and darkness. Most likely, you didn’t use your garden at all. And after such a long period of neglect, your yard is probably full of debris. Perhaps you think that since no one was in the garden, it couldn’t be that much.

Oh well, you’d be surprised to find out how much trash your yard can collect after just one winter. And it’s not necessary for it to be human-made trash. Most of the time, it’s just vegetal debris.

Therefore, the first thing that you will need to do when you decide to begin your spring clean-up session is to take care of this mess. You can start collecting all of the sticks and branches that have fallen from the trees because of the strong winter winds.

Maybe you have pets, and probably they are the only ones who have been out in the backyard during the cold season. Now, you will need to clean up everything they have left behind. When the weather is warmer, it is easier to do this, but since it was cold and snowy, you left this task for the spring.

Also, if you have any lawn decorations, this is the perfect time for you to clean them up and decide whether you want to keep them for this year or maybe change them.
